Nicole Mitchell Murphy was born on January 5, 1968 to Ellen, a British homemaker and Eddie T. "Mitch" Mitchell, an African American United States Air Force pilot. She is an American fashion model, television personality, designer, occasional actress and an entrepreneur. Nicole is famously known as the ex-wife of American popular comedian Eddie Murphy, a marriage that lasted between 1993–2006. Their children include; Bria Murphy, Shayne Audra Murphy, Bella Zahra Murphy, Zola Ivy Murphy and Miles Mitchell Murphy.

Nicole started her modelling career at age 13. Within a year, Nicole won an international modelling contest and signed with the Ford Modeling Agency and then subsequently to top Paris agency glamour models. But she has retired from modelling and now have her own jewellery collection — "FLP Jewelry Design," aka Friendship, Love and Peace.
