Born on July 21, 1988, Sadaf Taherian is an actress and model from Iran. Her appearance in Iranian movies didn't last much before she went ahead to post unveiled images of herself on Facebook and Instagram that provoked a furious reaction from Iran's ministry of culture and Islamic guidance.

Sadaf did that in protest at being forced to wear a headscarf in October 2015; and said she will speak out about the "dirty cinema of Iran". Although Iran’s law deems hijab mandatory for women since the establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979. Sadaf was banned from acting by the ministry of culture and Islamic guidance.
