Kimberly Elise Trammel is an American actress who is known for her role of the Pearl Farmer in The Great Debaters. She was born on April 17, 1967 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States to Erma Jean (née Johnson), an elementary school teacher, and Marvin Trammel, who owns an executive search firm. Making her debut in the movie Set It Off (1996), she has also appeared in many movies such as John Q. (2001), The Manchurian Candidate (2004), Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005), The Great Debaters (2007) and many others.

Kimberly attended the University of Minnesota, where she studied communications. She won a BET Comedy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress for her role in Diary of a Mad Black Woman and also got a Black Reel Award nomination for her role as Eugenie Rose in The Manchurian Candidate. Elise got married to Maurice Oldham in 1989 and they had two daughters Ajableu Arial Oldham (born March 16, 1990) and Butterfly Rose Oldham (born October 19, 1998), but the couple divorced in 2005. Maurice died in 2007.
