Hammasa Kohistani is a British model who was born on 19 December 1987 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She made history by becoming the first Muslim beauty contestant to be crowned Miss England in a two-day competition at Liverpool's Olympia Theatre on 3 September 2005.
Her parents are of Tajik ethnicity and were living in Afghanistan but had to leave the country twice as refugees during the Soviet war and Taliban issues. But the Taliban taking control made them to leave permanently in 1996 to United Kingdom.
